As JH Greene gears up for the ICSC PA/NJ/DE Deal Making Conference next week, our team looks forward to the opportunity to put our heads together with some of the industry’s best. After all, your net worth is only as good as your network, right?
On the first day, ICSC will host a research session discussing the latest trends affecting retail real estate now and into the future. My hypothesis for this session is a large coverage of e-commerce shifts driving the industry. I look forward to taking notes and summarizing the conversation afterwards for a retrospective blog— but also use the guidance to direct JH Greene’s future retail construction relationships.
There will be an intriguing keynote presentation from Ryan Howard, famous Philadelphia Phillies player with some interesting ties to commercial real estate, which were unknown to me. He is a partner at a Conshohocken-based venture capital fund focused on sports technology and the future of retail. The connection of the Mid-Atlantic real estate climate to his success as an athlete probably involved some interesting philosophies allowing him to form decisions leading to his accomplishments. I’m very eager to learn from his insight.
Following the presentation, there will be some engaging roundtable discussions in which participants can opt into the group that has the most fitting topic to his/her focus. JH Greene will be attending the construction and lein issues chat, opening closed doors roundtable, and how to maximize value of an architect discussion. There will also be special interest groups with expert leaders guiding conversation relevant to financial, infrastructure, liquor licensing, retail, and women’s role in the industry.
Following the first day, day two will have the deal making portion of the conference. This segment will involve exhibitors connecting with anyone who comes to the booth to chat. What’s nice about this interaction is the opportunity to first connect on a personal level, then discover overlap in ways to make each other’s professional lives easier. There is a ton of opportunity to not only acquire new business from event such as this, but also to learn from seasoned entrepreneurs and better understand how to act upon trends in the market.
I’ve learned through a focus of optimizing time spent networking that with a concentration on mutual benefits within the commercial real estate industry, I can’t go wrong. This event is a guaranteed opportunity to create lasting impressions in the minds of the people that JH Greene has the ability to help the most. If you’d like to set up an informal intro meeting at the event next week, reach out to us at sales@jhgreene.com. We’d love to meet!
